

James Peter McCloskey, 46, died suddenly at home in Pasadena, California on September 25, 2013 of an apparent heart attack. Jay, as he was known, was raised in New Jersey and Rochester, NY where he played baseball and football for McQuaid Jesuit High School. Jay was a loving son, uncle and brother among seven siblings.
Jay, a graduate of Florida Institute of Technology and licensed pilot was an international marketing representative for Piper Aircraft until 2001 when he started his own aircraft brokerage business. Jay is survived by his loving parents, James and Maureen McCloskey of Ship Bottom, NJ; brothers Kevin of Woodland Hills, California and William of Hazlet, NJ and sisters Joan Downey of Fairport, NY, Kathleen Forster of San Juan Capistrano, California, Maryellen Kiely of Rumson, NJ and Theresa Kennedy of North Hollywood, California.
Funeral arrangements include public viewing from 4-8 pm at Gates Kingsley and Gates Mortuary, 6909 Canoga Avenue, Canoga Park, CA., 818-348-3354 on Thursday October 3, 2013 with The Rosary at 7 pm. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, October 4 at 10:00am at St. Bernardine of Siena Church, 6061 Valley Circle Blvd., Woodland Hills, Ca. 818-888-8200.
