A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gloria Nichols Cornette; two sons, Thomas Jeffrey Cornette of Winnetka; and Rodney Scott Cornette (Stacy) of West Hills; three granddaughters, Kirstin Juliet Cornette of Santa Rosa; and Taylor Lynn Cornette and Devin Jean Cornette, both of west Hills; and a brother, John Steven (Jack) Cornette (Vera) of King George, Virginia.
He was the owner of TOMCO Wholesale Distributors.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 30, at Gates Kingsley Gates Praiswater Mortuary, 6909 Canoga Ave Canoga Park. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 31, at Oakwood Memorial Cemetery, Chatsworth.
