You were my friend and mentor... I miss our times together talking about movies. My heart hurts... I miss your my friend.

Leon came into my thoughts today and I didn't even know he had passed a few years ago. I knew him from The Hiding Place days and he encouraged me as I was a new believer. Leon was a wonderful teacher who was kind, intelligent & caring. He loved the Lord with his entire might. And I know that God is taking great care of him. Jesus loves him so much and I know Leon loves Jesus so much, too. God bless his entire family and give them strength & love as time goes on. One day we will all be joyful with the Lord in heaven,  God willing.

I am very sorry to hear of Leon's passing. My condolences go out to his family and loved ones. I worked with Leon at Huntington Memorial Hospital and was very sad to hear this news. Leon would spend time in my office, sharing his daily stories with me and I could always tell when he was having a difficult day. He talked extensively about his family and was very dedicated to them. He was such a kind and caring individual.  He would take time out of his day listening to my issues and concerns and always provided great prospective and wonderful advice. He was always a good listener and a friend to me. I was recently attempting to re-connect with him, which is how I learned of his passing. May God bless him and his family? I will always remember him and the fantastic person he was.

Dearest Director Family, It is with great sorrow today that I share with ALL of you the passing of your beloved Husband, Daddy, Son, Brother (and in-law), and Friend as you lay him to rest this day. It is with great joy that I can celebrate with all of you today that Leon no longer sees through a glass dimly, but sees Jesus face to face as he now resides in that mansion that was prepared for him. As you all say your final good-byes to precious Leon today with broken hearts, may the Truth that you will see Leon face to face once again fill your broken hearts with that supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding. May the Love of God, the comfort of His Holy Spirit and Promises, the closeness of family and friends, and all the prayers bring you strength today and all the days ahead. I would like to end with a beautiful and sweet memory I shared with Leon over 10 years ago... It was our special privilege to carry up to the 'wedding' pulpit a long sash that we wrapped around the Bride and Groom, Laura and Michael. A precious Phillipino custom that touched our hearts and gave us a special bond. I'm so blessed that Laura and Michael's Union brought our families together and that I got to know and love Leon, my Brother in Christ. Leon, I will look forward to sharing with you once again a 'Heavenly Sash' that will wrap us in a 'Heavenly Marriage' with Jesus forever. God's most tender lovingkindnesses to you ALL.

I too, was shocked to read of his passing this morning, from Sacramento.  Way back in our 'Hiding Place Church' days, Leon, you were One, in our group of blessed brothers in the Lord.   I thank God for the time shared at our 'Hiding Place Church', when we were so young!  Westwood St. Ministry, Bible studies, camping and more memories.  My prayers to his beloved family & friends. May God embrace you as your soul rests in peace.????

My God comfort the Directo family. Leon was a friend I've known since 1982. We used to talk on the phone or via email. I'm sorry you didn't get in that last trip to Texas we talked about. I know you are in a better place now and God had a purpose for your life and he also has a plan for your children.  May God bless you!! Rest in peace my friend.

As a good friend of Laura's, we have been praying for all of you.  I am so glad that we can grieve with hope, because Leon knew Jesus personally.  Someday I will be privileged to meet Leon myself, where there is no pain, no sorrow, no death...and He shall wipe away each tear.  Praying God's comfort and strength for each of you tonight and tomorrow and in the many days ahead.

Our condolences and love to the entire Directo family. For Wheng we pray that your sorrow is softened by your loving memories of Leon. We read once  that the passing of a loved one is somewhat like the loss of a package..,, but the gift it came in remains in your heart forever. Leon was that special gift.

My condolences to Leon's family.  I am a colleague of Leon's at Dignity Health and an email dialogue partner about some of his passions - faith, leadership and excellence. I admired Leon's intellectual curiosity and breadth and the passion with which he pursued knowledge - knowledge of God as well as knowledge of many other things.

Leon and I both came from the business world to chaplaincy and so shared some similar perspectives.  I especially remember a conversation with him at a mission & spiritual care leaders meeting in San Bernardino where we were introduced to Dignity Health's new brand "Hello Humankindness."  We were both energized by the concept because of its resonance with spirituality and faith, as well as hopeful for an organization that would choose such a brand.  

I knew that Leon was ill and understood the seriousness of his illness, but am still surprised at this news.  I believe I still have some posts in my email list from Leon that I have not yet read. 

When I think of Leon I am reminded of a passage of scripture that speaks of him and others like him:
  
Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. Daniel 12:3

Dearest Directo Family, our deepest sympathy to all of you over the loss of your son/brother/husband/dad. Leon's greatest strength came from believing in God in that all of you could find comfort in this to realize all the blessings bestowed upon you in the memories and love you have for him. Leon used to drop his twin boys off at my house to play with my children. They are young teenagers now and outstanding young men. My deepest prayers are with them.

Leon gave both encouragement and unsolicited financial support at a crucial time early in our ministry.  Even during his illness, he facilitated spiritual care when one of our loved ones was admitted to the hospital where he had been employed.  He will be missed.

Leon was such a comfort to me during my time of suffering. I remember he would bring his precious twins to work sometimes. My thoughts and prayers go out to them at this time.

Our condolences to the family of Leon, especially his children who are very young.
