Born in Dorchester, Allen was the proud son of Samuel and Celia (Palatnick) Goldstein. Along with his sister Frances, he grew up in Milton, where he shone as a standout athlete in football at Milton High School, embodying the spirit of grit, determination, and hard work, which he exemplified his entire life.
Allen married his beloved wife, Mary (Goldfine) Goldstein, who predeceased him in 2017. Together, they built a warm and loving home in Framingham, raising their two daughters, Lee and Dana, in an environment filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Lee Sternburg, now residing in Mansfield, with her husband Andrew and daughters Hannah and Samantha; and Dana Elkhoury, living in Walpole, with her husband Gaby and son Jonathan; continue to carry forward his legacy of kindness and family devotion.
Allen was always an entrepreneur at heart, having owned several Boston taxicab medallions, and starting and operating many successful businesses in the taxicab and auto rental industries as well as in residential real estate investment. Allen's passion for sports was unmatched. A season ticket holder for the Boston Red Sox for over 40 years, he lived and breathed the excitement of the game. Whether it was cheering from the stands of Fenway Park or making the occasional sports bet, Allen embraced every moment with enthusiasm.
In recent years, Allen found joy in the simpler pleasures of life. His summers were spent hosting barbecues, enjoying dinners at his favorite spots on the Cape, and relishing time with his family at the pool and pond at his Falmouth home. These moments, filled with laughter and good food, were some of his greatest joys.
Allen is fondly remembered as a man of great humor, and immense love for his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories with his three grandchildren and numerous adoring family members, and a circle of great friends. His recent years were brightened by his dear companion, Bella Jacob, who, along with all who knew him, will miss his vibrant spirit and heartfelt smile.
As we say goodbye to Allen M. Goldstein, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with passion, joy, and an unyielding commitment to those he loved. His story is a testament to the beauty of a life dedicated to family and friends. Allen's memory will forever inspire us to cherish our moments together, supporting each other with the same generosity and love he showed each day of his life.
