Gertrude "Gitty" Kramer Green

Gertrude "Gitty" (Kramer) Green of Dedham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 100 years of age.

Daughter of the late Rose (Zeidel) and Barnet Kramer. Loving wife of the late Milton Green. Beloved mother of Debora Green and Edward Ballis of West Yarmouth, MA, Ronnie Green and Steve Mierau of Carlisle, MA, Judy Green of Needham, MA, and Jon Green of Cary, NC. Cherished grandmother of Julia Savage, Jessica Devin, Stephanie Ballis, Adam Green, Emma Green, and Sam Green. Great-grandmother of Henry and Zoey Savage, Beau and Olive Davin. She will also be missed by her long-time loving caregiver, Moh Sylla as well as many friends and colleagues.

Gertrude was born in Boston on August 4, 1925. She grew up in Winthrop, MA with two brothers and a sister. Gertrude, or Gitty as she was known to all, was the loving wife of Milton Green who predeceased her in 2018. She was a physician and a mother. She was an internist and worked at Tufts New England Medical Center for the majority of her career. She was loved by her patients and was an inspiration to her colleagues. In addition to taking care of her patients, she taught medical students and was on the medical school admissions committee. She loved the practice of medicine and continued to work full-time until she was 85 years old. She was a loving mother who was able to juggle her career as well as raising 4 children. She has a second home in West Yarmouth and loved spending her time there with family and friends enjoying the peace and tranquility of the ocean and watching those beautiful sunsets from her deck. She will be missed by all!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 1 PM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA.

Friends may visit the family at NewBridge on the Charles, in the Great Meadow Hall, 5000 Great Meadow Road, Dedham, MA on August 10th, immediately following the burial from 4-6pm. Also on Monday, August 11th from 4-7pm at the home of Judy Green.
