MILLER, Leona (Schneider), age 95 years, passed away at her home in Framingham, 8 years after her husband Benjamin. They had been married 61 years. She was the woman behind the man in her marriage. Born in Chelsea to Rose (Hurwitz) and Harry Schneider, she lived in Roxbury, Mattapan, Framingham and Lake Worth, FL. She leaves behind her daughters, Donna MacMurray, her husband Peter and grandson Peter, and Sherri Miller, her late husband Walter Magee and granddaughter Laura, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother, Reverend Theodore Schneider. She was predeceased by her brother, Bernie Schneider. In addition to her wonderful granddaughter Laura, who cared for her, she leaves her amazing caretakers, Michelle Bernard, and Liz Barrus, who became family. She was an avid reader and when she lost her vision, Michelle and Liz, read to her. In her younger days she loved to dance, dine out, and travel with her husband. She aspired to be a newscaster, but not liking the permissive nature of New York, came back to Boston where she graduated from the BU Business School and then worked as an executive secretary for years before raising her family. She worked with her husband in the surgical supply business and then in the travel business. She arranged tours for the Scottish Rites and Masons. Her longevity was promoted by those who cared for her along with her stubbornness and strength. Graveside services will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 1:45 PM. The family will be receiving visitors at her late residence on Monday 6-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
