Dick was born in Boston to the late Edward and Helen (Sharon) Carlton and lived in Stoughton most of his adult life, but always dreamed of retirement in Scottsdale; he made it a little over a year ago. Dick was the beloved husband of the late Nancy J. (Radovsky) Carlton, they were married for 58 years. He was the devoted father of Dean Carlton and his wife Jessica, Robin J. Carlton and the late Judith Santos; the loving brother to Marsha Miller, Steven Carlton and his wife Tina and the late Sandra Valladares and the cherished grandfather of Tyler and his wife Madison, Deanna, True, Krista, Ashley, Danielle, Gila, Michael, Tony and Noah.
Dick was a graduate of Randolph High School and went on to the field of engineering, but not before serving his country proudly in the Navy, including the Bay of Pigs Operation in Cuba. He returned home, met Nancy and started a family, while installing and servicing medical equipment for DuPont. Dick had many interests, likes and hobbies including hunting, fishing, The Patriots, vacationing in Myrtle Beach, gardening, and playing flag football with his brother. All of those fall short in comparison when it came to Dick’s pride and joy, time with his family. Whether it was Golf with his beloved Nancy at Ponkapoag, hanging at the shop helping Dean, watching True play football or helping raise and be a father to Tyler, it was his family that gave Dick true happiness. His loving presence, support and character will be missed but not forgotten.
