Dr. Richard A Wilgoren, 80, of Lake Worth, Florida and Cape Cod, Massachusetts passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday night, November 25, 2018. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts.
Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Natalie Denkin Wilgoren, son Robb Wilgoren and wife Sara Wilgoren and grandchildren Ashley and Brady, daughter Michele Wilgoren Spiegelman and son-in-law David Spiegelman.
Richard’s schooling consisted of his BA at UMass Amherst, MAT at Wesleyan, CAS at Harvard and EDD at UMass Amherst.
Richard was a respected and dedicated educator. He was a former Barre city councilman, president of the Rotary club, state representative for the Vermont We The People program, helped numerous political campaigns, a master gardener and bridge player.
He enjoyed reading non-fiction, especially subjects related to history. He avidly enjoyed eating and had many favorite restaurants. He was always well-informed about world affairs and the political scene. He was an energetic fan of Boston sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and Patriots. He enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with family Natalie, Robb, Sarah, Ashley, Brady, Michele, and Dave.
