Ronn was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 18th 1945 and moved to Canton, Massachusetts as a teenager. He was the loving son to the late Gertrude and Ruben J. Tockman. Ronn was a devoted husband and father of wife Lois Gibley and their children and their wives, Neil & Jennifer Tockman (NH), Lee & Lesley Tockman (NJ), and Gail Tockman (MA). Cherished brother of Steven Tockman and his wife Marcene, and Michelle (Tockman) Pine and her husband Stephen. He adored his grandchildren Hunter, Hannah, Aidan, Alex, and Dylan and would travel on a regular basis to spend time and celebrate special occasions with them. Ronn also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
Ronn was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War, earning two Purple Hearts for his bravery and commitment to keeping our Freedom.
Upon returning from the war, he earned his degree from Suffolk University in accounting and continued to earn his CPA licensure. He was committed to his profession, serving as a partner in firm for many years and then venturing on his own in his private practice. Ronn was proud of his business and the work he did, and he even kept his business running while in the hospital. Ronn was an active member of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners, presented at many conferences, sat on the Board of Directors, and served as their Vice President.
Ronn loved to play and watch sports and even more so loved being with his children, coaching, watching games, going to the Boston Garden for Celtics games, Bruins games and any sport you could think of; he loved to be part of their lives.
Ronn got great pleasure from giving back to the community and helping the less fortunate. He was an active member of the Knights of Pythias for 20+ years, serving many roles including Chancellor Commander.
Ronn will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will forever be in their hearts and thoughts.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 17th at 9:30AM at Knollwood Memorial Park, 321 High Street, Canton, MA 02021. Services will be livestreamed via Zoom. For Zoom information, please contact Stanetsky Memorial Chapels at 781-821-4600.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the West Roxbury VA Medical Center, as they took such great care of him after returning from the War and during his recent illness, keeping him comfortable during his last hours.
