Beloved brother of Lesley Ann Marcus Brauer. Loving cousin of Rosanne Driscoll, Shari Lopilato and her husband Steve, and Randy Goldman. Cherished uncle of Cory and Chelsea Brauer and great-uncle of four.
Steven was born in Boston to the late Irving “Marky” and Helmi (Kallio) Marcus on June 30, 1950. He went on to graduate from Brookline High School and attend Boston State College before joining the US Army. He made Aliyah to Israel. He was a current member of Congregation Agudas Achim in Attleboro. Formerly, he was a longtime member of Temple Ahavat Achim in Gloucester. Steven was a loving uncle and friend, a hard worker, and a compassionate man, even throughout his persistent challenges with mental illness. He will be missed by family, friends, caregivers, acquaintances and all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Steven, your life mattered.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 27th at 1:00 PM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Steve’s memory may be donated to the National Alliance of Mental Illness at NAMI.org or to the Nursing Department at the Life Care Center of Raynham for staff education.
