Barbara Kay Wilhelm

She was born in Canton, to the late Donald C. and Ruth (Hackathorn) Slates and was a lifelong resident of Perry Township. She was a graduate of Perry High School. In 1980, she married her Lawrence Wilhelm and enjoyed 44 years of marriage with him. Barbara loved to travel and was able to visit 49 states. Her favorite trip was a two week trip to Hawaii. She also liked to go to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Mountaineer. Barbara worked at Canton Drop Forge for many years before she retired. After retirement, she did ceramics and went to many craft shows. After years of doing her ceramics, she wanted to begin working on her family tree. This journey took her to many grave sites and several libraries. She was able to complete four books on her ancestry.

Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by one niece.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Wilhelm, stepdaughter, Julie (Ron) Schmucker, sister, Sandy (Kenny) Rohr brothers, Donald (Sara) Slates and Randy (Sue) Slates, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours for Barbara will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am with Reverend Gary Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
