

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his return home from serving, he was charmed by a young lady at a square dance who would become the love of his life. Carl retired from NCR as a service technician. He maintained his strong work ethic as an example and teacher to his children. Carl’s family will fondly recall his talented creativity while appreciating the home that he built for them.
Carl will be deeply missed by his wife of nearly 64 years, Velma Hookway; son, Karl L. (Lisa) Hookway; daughter, Kay (Bill) Allison; brother, Norman (Betty) Hookway; sister, Phyllis (Dave) Clouse; grandchildren, Heather (Johnny) Manzonie, Grant (Halley) Hookway, Hayley (Brad) White, Nikki Wise and Drew Wise; 5 great grandchildren plus 2 ‘on the way’; many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 6 siblings.
A funeral service will be held 11:30 AM on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd NW, North Canton, OH 44718 with Pastor Webb Parsons officiating. Friends may call just prior to the service from 10 AM until 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
