He was born in Buffalo, New York on April 10th, 1963. Charlie graduated from Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor, Pennsylvania and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest Missouri State University.
Charlie worked as a meat cutter throughout high school. He then went on to work in sales in the fresh meat industry throughout his career, and for the last ten years has been a Division Sales Manager at Case Farms.
Charlie was a foodie through and through. He met his wife, Mara, in Tampa, Florida, where he caught her ear with his beautiful voice as “the boy next door” at their apartment complex. She courted him by cooking him gourmet meals while he provided excellent wines to accompany them. They married in Sarasota, Florida and started their life together in Phoenix, Arizona, the first of many “new adventures”.
Charlie was a gregarious, positive person with a great sense of humor. He “knew no strangers” and always found a way to interact and bond with those around him. Throughout his life, he relocated to many states, coast to coast, and embraced the uniqueness of each new location. He was a loving, thoughtful husband and best friend to his wife, Mara, of 25 years, as well as an attentive and caring father of their two children, Kennedy and Shane. For the past 10 years, he and his son, Shane were active in Boy Scouts of America. Charlie was a proud Assistant Scout Master of Troop 12 in North Canton, Ohio.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Mara, their two children, Kennedy and Shane, his mother Helene Gillogly, sisters Diane DiSandro and Mary Gillogly, brother John Gillogly, and two lovely cats.
