

She was born May 7th, 1942 in Accident, Maryland to the late Alvy Thomas and Lillian E. Thomas (Glotfelty). She and her husband of 65 years moved to Canal Fulton in 1965, where they raised a large family that she adored and dedicated her life to.
She is preceded in death by both parents; two half-brothers, Sherman "Sonny" House, and Robert "Bob" House; sisters, Eleanor George (Thomas), Linda S. Thomas; brothers, William H. Thomas, James M. Thomas; step-son, Jeffrey W. Moore; and step-daughter, Gina R. Moore. She is survived by her husband, Lewis H. Moore, Jr.; step-son, Lewis H. Moore, III; sons, Craig S. Moore, Mark A. Moore; daughters, Elizabeth A. Moore, and Leslie G. Moore; step-grandchildren, Jaysen H. Moore, and Justin Moore; grandchildren, Matthew A. Moore, Jordan I. Moore, and Bradley Gayheart; step-great-grandchildren, Taylor Moore, Mya Moore; great-grandchildren, Nathan A. Moore, Jensen J. Dolan, and Marcellus A. Dolan; step-great-great grandchildren, Silas Young, Raven Gonzalez; and many nieces and nephews.
Darlene loved to be there for her family and never faltered when she was called upon. She was truly a family woman. Darlene also worked while taking care of family. She retired from Mercy Medical Center as a housekeeper, where she was praised by many for her job performance and achievements. Darlene was loved by many and was there for many in their time of need, a woman of strength, dedication to many, a woman of faith and perseverance. She will be greatly missed by the many lives that she touched. Anyone loved by Darlene had a definite blessing. Nothing could distract her from loving her family or break her spirit or stride.
A visitation for Darlene will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd NW, Canton, Ohio 44718. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Darlene will be laid to rest in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, North Canton, Ohio.
