Kent Jay Justen

26 April, 1947 – 14 February, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

Karlo-Libby Funeral Home & Sunset Hills Memory Gardens

Kent Jay Justen, 78, formerly of LaGrange, passed away on February 14, 2026.

Kent was born in Lorain on April 26, 1947, to the late Dallas and Neveda (Blanat) Justen. He was a proud graduate of Admiral King High School, Class of 1965. Kent worked at Parker Hannifin as a Quality Inspector for 42 years before retiring in 2009.

Kent was an avid outdoorsman who had a deep love for horses. He enjoyed spending time working on his mini farm, caring for his animals, riding horses, and attending horse shows. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of farm life and being outdoors. Above all, Kent loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren, who meant the world to him

He is survived by his daughter, Shanna (Jamie) Schmidt; three grandchildren, Austin, Nyle, and Bailey Schmidt; his nephew, Clark Justen; and his beloved dog, Shelby.

Along with his parents, Kent was preceded in death by his brother, Dennison Justen, and his nephew, Todd Justen.

Per his wishes, Kent will be cremated, and a private family service will be held at a later date.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Kent’s name to the Friendship Animal Protective League of Lorain County.
