Linda lived all her life in the Canton area, graduating from Canton South High School in 1959 and taking a job at the Timken Company in the mailroom where she delivered mail throughout the plant.
Linda met the love of her life, Ralph Carlone, at Meyers Lake Amusement Park. They married on November 2, 1963, and joyfully celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2023. Together they raised their two sons, Brian Michael and Kevin Paul.
After marriage Linda was a homemaker. She volunteered her time at the boys’ schools for many years. She was also known for her cooking. Any visitor never left her house hungry or without a plate of leftovers to take home. She definitely was a boy’s mom. She enjoyed throwing a baseball and football around with her sons when they were younger. Additionally, she never missed watching their sporting events and patiently endured their shenanigans. She also enjoyed archery and fishing. She and Ralph traveled to Rice Lake in Canada every summer to fish for over 40 years. Linda also enjoyed her group of girlfriends from high school, especially Bonnie, as they became friends in the 1st grade. They started a card club of 8 friends who met monthly after high school which continues to this day. Linda’s greatest joy was being “Grandmoo” to her 5 grandchildren whom she enjoyed babysitting and attending their school & sporting events.
In January 2024, Linda became ill and moved into Bethany Nursing home where she resided in Assisted Living. She had wonderful caregivers there, especially Mariah, Heaven and Hannah but appreciated the Bethany staff as they all provided loving care to her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Kevin Carlone. She is survived by son Brian (Lynn) Carlone, grandchildren, Nicole (Matt) Carlone Losi, Marisa (Sean) Calhoun, Brianna (Jon Marsh) Carlone, Ty Dehoff, and Alaina Carlone, sister, Janice Holten, brother, William “Bill” Fowler, daughter-in-law, Melinda Dehoff, sister-in-law Sharon (Debbie Murphy) Schweitzer, and great-grandson Robert “Bo” Michael Calhoun.
Per her wishes, Linda has been cremated, and a private celebration of life and burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be notified.
