

Raymond L. Farwick, age 73, passed away on November 26, 2014, in Canton, Ohio at Mercy Medical Center Hospice, surrounded by his loved ones, following his courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 1, 1941, in Canton to Joseph and Grace (Riley) Farwick. Raymond attended grade school at St. Paul's Catholic Church, graduated from McKinley High School in Canton, and had attended St. Paul’s Catholic Church in North Canton. He retired from Abbott Electric after working as an electrician for over fourty years. During his lifetime, he was an active member of I.B.E.W. Local #540 and F.O.E. in North Canton and Carrollton. He was passionate about The Odd Fellows, Atwood Angels, and he received the Golden Hammer from Habitat for Humanity, all for his belief in giving back to the community. Raymond's other favorite passion was his love for golfing and served as an officer on the Stark County Senior Golf Association. In addition, another pastime favorite was playing various card games such as solitaire, euchre, gin, and gin rummy just to name a few. He also spent many weekends fishing on Atwood Lake on his boat among family and friends and especially with his grandchildren. Every summer he always attended the Weakland/Riley Family Reunion where he would use his auctioneering talent to raise funds for the next years gathering. And finally, his most recent favorite activity was that he had taken up Polka dancing at various churches and halls through the Polish Club. He will always be remembered for his friendliness, compassion, and sense of humor that will be truly missed by many and never forgotten by everyone. ~But now comes the day to bid you a fond farewell.~
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nadine V. Farwick; his parents; grandson, Dugan Q. Keller; and brothers, William, Donald and Robert Farwick. Surviving him is his daughter, Marisa (Thomas) Keller; grandchildren, Darcy V. Keller and Dayna K. Keller; sisters, Joanne (Marvin) Siber, Patricia Wagner, Veronica (Merle) Roemer, and Mary (Jim) Rocci; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Friends and family may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014, at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Jeff Witherspoon conducting the service.
