He was born July 30, 1931 in Canton, Ohio to the late Paul and Marguerite (Yarger) Sumser. Bob had a career in Dry Cleaning for North Canton Cleaners, a family-owned business started by his father in 1928. He was loved and will be missed by his customers and vendors. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church, North Canton. Bob was a 26-year veteran of the US Navy Reserve.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marion (Diuk) Sumser. He is survived by his children, Joan Glew, Bill Sumser, Dan (Michele) Sumser, Kelly (John) Henkel, MaryKay (Darin) Baad, Andrea Haueter; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dick, and Joe; sisters, Madelyn Schumacher, and Marilyn O'Connor.
A mass of christian burial for Robert will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 241 South Main Street, North Canton, OH 44720. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, North Canton.
