

Ruth Ellen Killion, was born on December 18, 1948, to Lois and Emmitt Blann in Oaktown, Indiana. After enduring a decade-long illness with cancer, she passed on January 1, 2024 minutes into the new year surrounded by her family.
Ruth was married to her devoted husband, Rich Killion, for 54 years and together they raised two cherished daughters, Stephanie Killion Schneider (Mike) and Jennifer Killion Overbey (Brian). Her legacy lives on through her adored grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Schneider, Morgan Eibel (Dale), and great-grandchildren, Easton, Jhett, and Charlee Eibel. She is survived by her sisters, Sarah Griggs (Jeff) and Jo Barrett (Kirby) and a large extended family.
In 1970, Rich and Ruth made their home in Jackson Township, OH. Ruth dedicated her professional life to Jackson Local Schools as a Home Economics teacher and Guidance Counselor. Her passion for education combined with her supportive and caring nature endeared her to many students.
Beyond her career, Ruth found joy in family vacations, particularly in Destin, Florida, filled with fun-loving memories. She created lasting traditions at holidays, cooking, baking, decorating and playing games.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Tri County Oncology and Mercy Hospital with their unwavering support of Ruth.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on January 13, 2024. Friends and Family are invited to visit from 12:30-2:00 followed by a service and burial to honor and celebrate the life of Ruth Ellen Killion. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to VeloSano, Cleveland Clinic Foundation for Cancer Research or your own cancer research charity in Ruth’s honor.
