

Thomas D. Cushing, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, May28, 2013. He was born on August 24, 1923 in Canton, OH to John T. and Margaret Pearl (Reese) Cushing. He was a graduate of Timken High School and a Korean War Veteran serving with the U.S. Army. He also retired from Timken Roller Bearing Co. Thomas was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Canton, Canton Masonic Temple, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #2223 in North Canton.
He enjoyed golf, all sports, dancing, laughing, but mostly taking care of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann (Carbone) Cushing, who passed in June 2000, and his parents. Thomas is survived by his son, John G. (Susan) Cushing; special friends, Walt and Charlotte Hostetter; grandchildren, Jodie (Kurt) Cushing, Jacob (Terry) McKeand-Kasen, Jeremiah Garland; sister in laws, Mary Arena and Jenny Cerreta and Edna Carbone. Dad leaves behind a very special friend, “his” guardian angel cat, Ethal, who stayed with him through his final hours.
Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burail Park with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Second Chance for Animals or the American Cancer Society. The family wants to give a special thank you to Aultman Hospice and Pam Sandy for kind, compassionate, and loving care.
