Algie Lee Hammack

Mr. Hammack passed away August 3, 2021 in Tyler. He was born August 4, 1949 in Edgewood to Melton Lee and Daphne Dunbar Hammack.

Algie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, but had been attending East Texas Country Church. He grew up in Grand Saline. Algie lived in Grand Prairie for forty years before moving to Canton in 2011. After 38 years of service, he retired as the plant manager for Petra Chemical. He then worked for Kroger for the next ten years. Algie loved his "retirement" years working for the Lewis family. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising bees. His family was his whole life.

Mr. Hammack is preceded in death by his parents, Melton and Daphne Hammack. He is survived by his wife, Mona Hammack of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Ley Hammack of Canton; daughter, Rhonda Brent of Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Mike Park of Canton; six grandchildren: Brandon, Lauren, Kayleigh, Haley, Dylan and Katie; six great-grandchildren: Melanie, Mia, Michael "Mikey," Leland, Alexandria and Alivia; and a sister, Gail Walker of Wills Point.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
