She attended Canton ISD schools until she married and started her family with her husband, Kenneth Johnson. She worked in a dentist’s office for over 30 years in Dallas, TX.
Her life was filled with family, friends, girl trips, vacations and shopping. She loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always made as many events as she possibly could to support their interests: band, choir, cheer, dance, sports, theatre, etc.… if she could make it, she was there.
She was obsessed with shopping. Shopping was either her therapy or her form of hunting. Finding an item that she could not live without at a price she couldn’t pass up was the ultimate thrill of the hunt for her. Of course, if the item was pink, that would be even better. She loved pink and we all knew it as her signature color.
She will be forever remembered as the Social Butterfly. She could float around an event so gracefully and beautifully. She was always giving, helping, and loving all and especially those in need. She was our personal butterfly forever filling our hearts with memories.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Bowman; her parents, William and Nettie Jacobs; her baby sister, Martha Evelyn Jacobs; her younger brother, Billy Frank Jacobs; her older brother and wife, Marion and Eileen Adrian; her daughter, Sherry Lynn Wheat; and grandson, Michael L. Truesdell, and many other loved ones.
She is survived by her spouse, Larry B. Smith; daughter, Joy Truesdell; son, Richard Paul Johnson; son and wife, Joseph and Michelle Johnson; granddaughter and husband, Rachel and Phillip McMahon; granddaughter, Stormi Truesdell; granddaughter and husband, Starr and Scott Bolander; grandson and wife, Tim and Lisa Brown; grandson, Jon Brown; grandson and wife, Keith and Emily Bradshaw; granddaughter, Autymn Johnson; great-grandchildren: Noah McMahon.
