A memorial service for Betty Jane Gennaro Ardinger will be held at a later date. Jane was born in Warren, Ohio, on July 27, 1926 to parents William and Theresa Gennaro. She graduated from Harding High School in 1944 and married her sweetheart Hank on Oct. 20, 1944. After Hank returned from service in Europe during World War II, he and Jane had 3 daughters: Heidi, Kathie and Bonnie.
In 1958, the family moved to Mesquite, TX and a new life began. Jane started working as a secretary at a Dallas car dealership. She worked full-time until she retired at 62.
Jane and Hank moved to Canton in 1997 with daughter Kathie, son-in-law Mike and grandson Seth. They made many friends in Canton and enjoyed living here. Jane and Hank moved to Country Place Senior Living Center in July 2014. The staff loved them both and were "angels" caring for Jane after Hank passed away in late August. Jane's family appreciated all the love and support and friendship of staff and residents at Country Place.
One of the most important parts of Jane's life was her faith in the Lord. She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ and served as a Deaconess until her death. She loved them all.
Jane is survived by her 3 treasured daughters: Heidi Kabanek of San Antonio, Kathie Davis of Canton and Bonnie Horka of Sudbury, Mass. Jane is also survived by her 3 wonderful grandchildren: Ami Robinson of Colorado Springs, Co, Jonathan Horka of Shrewsbury, Mass and Seth Davis of Tyler.
She had 2 great-grandsons: Kyle and Jett Robinson also of Colorado Springs, Co, as well as her brother, Bill, and sister-in-law, Betty Gennaro, of Miami, Fl; and nieces and nephews.
