Betty Jo Phillips

Betty passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 17, 2020 in Canton, Texas. She was born on December 12, 1932 in Palestine, Texas to Willis James Partin and Mattie Rose Dunn Partin.

Betty grew up in the Athens area. On July 6, 1954 she married the love of her life, R. B. Phillips, Jr. They were married 59 years at the time of R. B.'s death. They moved to the Dallas area and raised a family. They later retired to the Canton area. Betty was a proud member of the Eastern Star and was Past Worthy Matron of Aubrey E. Hope Lodge 1446 AF & AM. She loved writing poetry, but more than anything she loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty was a firecracker, busy bee and storyteller. Her favorite things were anything purple and butterflies. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Betty is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Robert and Vernice Phillips; grandchildren: Magen and Rodney Rudolph, Amanda and Aneil Kamath, Dennis Phillips, Cash Phillips, Sean Carmichael, Shelley and Matt Higginbotham, Ashley and Chris McDougald; great grandchildren: Kason, Blakely, Ali, Brailyn, Oliver, Madison, Morgan, Shelby, Kendall and Elijah.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Mattie Partin; loving husband, R. B. Phillips, Jr.; daughters, Patsy Phillips and Janice Phillips; brothers, Dean Partin and Billy Partin; sisters Lorene McGee and Nettie Yates.

A come and go visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Eubank Funeral Home, Canton TX.

Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
