

Services for Brenda Joyce Shinn, 78, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10 am Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor Mike Roberson and Bro. Mike Stone officiating. Inurnment will be in DFW National cemetery.
Mrs. Shinn passed away January 1, 2023 in Tyler after a brief illness. She was born February 20, 1944 in Danville, Virginia to Roy Ray Davis and Beatrice Austin Davis.
Brenda grew up in Lexington, NC. She joined the Air Force immediately after graduating high school in 1962. She was able to live in Europe, California and Texas. Brenda retired from the City of Merced, CA in 1994 and moved to Texas. She enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, being around people, traveling and music. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She had also served in the District 30 VFW Honor Guard for many years as a trumpet player and a chaplain.
Mrs. Shinn is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon R. "Pete" Alexander; parents: Roy Davis and Beatrice Stanley; three sisters: Betty Davis Holzworth, Sylvia Forrest and Kay Barker; and brother, Michael Davis.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Richard Shinn; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Tonnie Franklin; son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Karen Stine; step-son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Lindy Shinn; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. If desired, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
