Services for Buford B. Walker, 94, of Murchison, are scheduled for 11 am Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at Calvary Baptist Church in Brownsboro with Bro. Danny Sandifer and Bro. Charlie Woodard officiating. Burial will be in Edom Cemetery.
Mr. Walker passed away January 28, 2019 in Chandler. He was born July 30, 1924 to Joe Jasper and Effie Miller Walker. He grew up and lived in Edom, Opelika, Brownsboro and Murchison.
Buford served in World War II in Communications, and retired from Carrier Air Conditioner in Tyler after over 20 years of service. He also worked for Brownsboro ISD, Leagueville Water Supply and farmed and ranched. Buford loved fishing and spending time with his family.
Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his wife, Melvinia Walker; son-in-law, Durie Joe Gray; granddaughter-in-law, Carolyn Gray; sister, Grace Chapman; and two brothers: Hardman and Buster Walker.
Buford is survived by his daughter, Millie Gray of Murchison; grandson, Terry Gray of Purdon; six great-grandchildren: Sarah, James, Josef, Emma, Loni and Darren; and three great-great-grandchildren: Haeley, Landon and Norma.
Pallbearers are Josef Camacho, James Gray, Cody Burris, David Walker, Cliff Smith, and Wayne Brewer.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
