

Debbie was born in Springfield, MO, and moved to Texas as a child, spending most of her life in the Dallas area, specifically in Garland. Debbie also lived in Plano, TX, Round Rock, TX, Lake Mary, Florida, Ft. Wayne, IN and Manlius, NY, but had moved back to Texas where she was a current resident of Rowlett.
Debbie had a passion for music and singing, and was known for her angelic soprano voice. Starting during her high school days at Garland High School she was a member of choir. Later she became a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Garland, and a member of the Chancel Choir. She also performed with the Garland Civic Chorus, where she loved to participate in the annual performance of Handel’s “Messiah."
Debbie started in a supplemental position with IBM and worked her way into an Executive Secretarial position, retiring from IBM after more than 20 years. She loved plants, antiques and interior decorating, as well as crafts. She was a Sunday school teacher to the 5 year old class at First Methodist for many years.
Debbie leaves behind her loving husband, Bob Schramek, daughters, Kari Simpkins (Lewisville, TX), and Kim Summer (Hapville, GA), step-daughter, Sherry Shramek-Wittman (Houston, TX), and step-son, Randy Shramek (Houston, TX), her sister Reda Lackey (Dallas, TX), and her brother Victor Hagan (E. Texas), as well as, 2 granddaughters and 3 grandsons.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy L. Hagan & Galen C. Hagan, and her brother Elwin C. Hagan.
A visitation is planned for Debbie on January 29, 2021 at 1:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Haven of Memories Memorial Park 27532 State Highway 64, Canton, TX 75103. In lieu of flowers please donate to Alzheimer’s research through the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
