Ms. Easley passed away peaceful on April 10, 2020 in Athens. She was born January 8, 1931 in Athens, TX to George Calloway Easley and Annie Leatha Cary Easley.
Dolores grew up in Canton and Martins Mill area. She graduated from Martins Mill High School in 1949. Dolores trained at Crozier Tech, ICS Correspondence Course and TI Advance Technician Training Program. She worked for TI for over 25 years. Dolores worked on Doppler Radar System and the MERA project. The radar technological breakthroughs she was responsible for are on display at the
Wright Patterson Air Force Museum. She also contributed many devices which are used today in our country’s defense effort and the growth of Texas instruments. She was active in Dallas Business and Professional Women’s Club; on the district, state and national level for many years. Dolores was President of the club 1978-1979 and was Woman of Year in 1984. She was nominated as a candidate of Texas’ Most Outstanding Women. Dolores was an advocate for Equal Rights in the Work place. Her career was an example and encouragement to many women. She was a mentor to young women through her support of “Junior Achievement” assisting them to develop into leaders and decision-makers in the business world. She was also active in her neighborhood “Crime Watch”. As a member of the Lone Star State Dulcimer Society she participated in providing community education in music, music history, folk culture and entertainment. Dolores was involved in the “Under-privileged Children’s Project” the forerunner of “Headstart” program to help pre-school children be ready for school. She retired and move to Enchanted Oaks where she was active in her community. Dolores loved living on the lake and going fishing. Most important to her was her "children", Gracie and Baby, her two dogs. She loved her family and friends. Dolores was a beautiful loving person that will be greatly missed by all that knew her and the lives she touch.
Dolores is survived by her nephew, Larry and Alisha Stratton; nieces: Denise Stratton Hock, Angela Stratton Read, Pamela and Phil Neari, Donna and J. L. Ziegenhals; sister-in-law, Joan Stratton; cousins: Lisa Ann Kalmin and Janelle Kalmin.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie Easley; and brother, Larry Stratton.
Interment will be at Old Bethel Cemetery in Van Zandt County.
