Don grew up in Lewisville. He married Joy Kirby on May 12, 1967. Don had a long career of helping others in the car industry first at Pontiac and then at various car dealerships around Dallas and East Texas. He had lived in Canton the past 46 years. Growing up, he enjoyed playing football and golf and rabbit hunting. Don was a wonderful husband, dad and grandfather.
Mr. Hood is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Joy; daughter, Terri Hood; parents, Truman and Maurine Hood; and brother, Keith Hood.
Don is survived by his two daughters; Sherri Malone and Kristi (Wes) Rhoten; three grandchildren: Ashleigh Malone, Landry (Sam) Blankenship, and Emory Rhoten; one great-grandson, Brady Samuel Blankenship; and sister, Cathy Hood.
A graveside service for family and Don's close friends will be held 11 am Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Haven of Memories with Wes Rhoten officiating.
