Eva Carroll Townsend

Graveside services will be held at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, TX.

Eva passed away on June 23, 2016, in Tyler, TX.

She was born on September 6, 1924, in Odell, TX, to George and Theatus Jarman Davis.

Eva was a longtime member of Little Hope Baptist Church where she served in the nursery, with vacation bible school, and on the hospitality committee. She was raised in Canton where she graduated from Canton High School in 1941. Eva married her husband, Tillery Townsend, in June of 1941, and they raised their family in Carrollton, TX. They retired to Canton in 1971 where they built their home on family land.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tillery Townsend; daughter, Carolyn Walker; infant daughter, Kathy Townsend; and sister, Geneva Townsend.

Eva is survived by her son, Gary Townsend; son, Danny Townsend; grandson, Kevin and Misty Carder; granddaughter, Kristy and Tom Weger; grandson, Bryan Townsend; great grandchildren, Megan Carder, Morgan Carder, Kate and Shaden Clark, Claire Weger, John Weger; niece, Joyce and Johnny Vick; and nephew, Davie and Glenda Townsend.

Visitation will be held on June 24, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, TX, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
