Randy grew up in Mattoon. After retiring from the Navy, he became a systems analyst consultant. He then became a Baptist minister and served two churches in the Tyler area. Randy met Frances on Match.com. They met over coffee at the Purple Pig at 7:30 one morning and they were together ever since. After moving to Canton, they became members of First Baptist Church of Canton.
Mr. Dobbs is preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce. He is survived by his wife, Frances Baumbach of Canton; son, Steve Dobbs and wife, Jennifer, of Arlington; step son, Robert Baumbach of Lancaster; stpe daughter, Diane Stranz of Arlington; and grandchildren: Trevor and Brittini Dobbs of Poynor and Thatcher Dobbs of Poynor.
Inurnment will be at the DFW National Cemetery.
