Services for Jack Kermit Hays, 84, of Edom, Texas, are scheduled for 4:30 pm October 13, 2014 at Eubank Funeral Chapel with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.

Burial will be in Edom Cemetery, Edom, Texas.

He passed away October 10, 2014 in Chandler, TX.

Mr. Hays was born May 1, 1930 in Edom, TX, to Samuel Kermit Hays and Ardie Faye Smith Hays.

He graduated from Van HS in 1947, Federal Institute in Tyler, Tyler Jr. College & East Texas State in Commerce. He served in the US Army from 1953-1955. He was employed as an accountant for 24 yrs. with Fina Oil Company & 5 yrs with Sinclair Refining Company. He retired to Edom in 1992, where he was active in the Edom Historical Society & the Edom Volunteer Fire Dept, & enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the Edom Baptist Church and later Edom Methodist Church.

Sister-in-law, Peggy Sides Hays of Martins Mill, TX,

Jon Hays of Mo, Many Cousins.

Jack was preceded in death by his Parents, Infant Brother, Brother, Neill Smith Hays.

Family will receive friends Monday 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the funeral home.
