Mr. Boland passed away June 29, 2016 in Dallas. was born May 31, 1945 in Dallas to John Alexander and Jannia Lou Posey Boland.
Rod was a member of the Jackson Baptist Church. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a teacher and principal for Searcy ISD for a number of years before retiring. Rod moved to Canton in 1993 to take care of his mother. He liked to play golf, watch TV, do wood work and sing Gospel songs.
Mr. Boland is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alex Boland.
Rod is survived by his spouse and caregiver, Lillian Gaskin Boland of Canton; son, Robby Boland of Searcy, Arkansas; daughter, Tish Lenhart of Searcy, Arkansas; two step-sons: John Gaskin of San Tan Valley, Arizona and Jimmy Gaskin of Canton, Texas; one granddaughter, McKenna Hamilton.
