

She was born in Dallas, Texas on November 20, 1941 to Larry VanBriggle Sr. and Marguriette Leatherman VanBriggle.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Eubank Funeral Home. A service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Cana Baptist Church in Wills Point, Texas.
LaVerne grew up in the Pleasant Grove area. She married her one true love, Gordon, on August 28, 1959. Together they raised a beautiful family and built a wonderful life full of love and laughter. The couple moved to the Canton area in 1980 and LaVerne was a member of Cana Baptist Church for 20 plus years.
LaVerne was hardworking and took great pride in caring for her family and her church. Her skills as an excellent cook and expert gardener allowed her to create a warm and inviting home, filled with beautiful flowers, fresh vegetable, and delicious meals. LaVerne was all about family time. The best days were days spent with family making lasting memories. LaVerne’s love for her role as a mother and grandmother was evident in everything she did.
LaVerne is preceded in death by her parents, Larry VanBriggle Sr. and Marguriette VanBriggle.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James Gordon Ragle; children: Sharon and Steven Warrick, James “Bubba” and Kelly Ragle, Porter and Phyllis Ragle; grandchildren: Shayna Warrick, Sara Warrick, James Gordon Ragle III and Shayla, Jason Ragle and Claire, John Ragle, Jesse Ragle, Justin Ragle, Clifton Ragle, Devan Ragle; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Walter VanBriggle; multiple nieces and nephews.
LaVerne will be laid to rest at Cana Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas.
