Louise Pruitt

Ms. Pruitt passed away on February 12, 2026 in Tyler at 90 years old. She was born August 25, 1935 in Canton to the parentage of Perry and Telasca Smith Fitzgerald as the youngest daughter.

Ms. Louise, also known as Cackann, Scrap Iron, but most affectionately as: Nana.

She joined Promise Land CME Church at a young age. She served there until her health no longer allowed it. She served several offices including: choir member, Stewardess, Missionary, Sunday School Superintendent/teacher, and Church Secretary. She served in other capacities as well.

She was educated in the Wynne Elementary School, after finishing in the Red Land School system. She graduated from Cartwright High School, Wills Point, TX. She attended Wayne School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois, but upon returning to Texas she was denied use of her nursing license. She later became a nursing aide.

As she moved back to Wynne Community to take up cooking, her second love. We call her "Chef" because she could always make something out of nothing. She worked at the City Cafe with her Father and took over as Head Chef there until they closed. She worked at the Canton School Cafeterias, Jr. High and High School, until her health failed. She will be truly missed in Wynne Community and Canton.

Ms. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: June Fitzgerald, Walter Fitzgerald, Rudolph (Tinker) Fitzgerald, Jessie Fitzgerald; and one son, William Earl Fitzgerald. On February 20, 2026, her sister, Lena B. Williams, passed away.

Left to carry on her legacy are her children: Anthony Fitzgerald (Debbie);, Vanessa Scott, Zeffie Pruitt; special son, Steve Eiland; niece Yvette Shaw; daughter-in-love, Annetta Fitzgerald; her grandchildren: Amy, Annacua (Jermaine), April, Micheal, Greg, Jessica, Nicholas, Maya, Piyah, Anthony and Trerod; great-grandchildren: De'Anneca, Nolan, Janey, Will, Luella, Lillian, Zhaw' breant, Zy' Reana, Zae' Toneyah, Zantonio, Zh' Marielle, and Zae' Meggah; great-great-grandchildren: Elias, Xy' Loni, Mamie (her namesake), Jayquam; and many other nieces, nephews, and bonus children, too many more to name.

The family would like to extend a "thank you, to Dr. Craig McMullen and Staff, Vital Caring Home Health, Briarcliff Healthcare Center, Kindful Health Hospice Care, Ms. Anita, Ms Barbara, and Brian Bass and Staff at Eubank Funeral Home.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Hall, Trerod Hall, Michael Scott, Greg Scott, Nicholas Pruitt, Zantonio Fitzgerald, Nolan Hurtt and William Hurtt.
