
Nola Fern Teel was born January 25, 1925, in Van Zandt County, Texas. She went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2016. She was the youngest of 6 children born to William Albert and Walker Annie Westmoreland. She was raised in Watkins Community near Canton, Texas. After graduating from Canton High School, she moved to Dallas and went to business school. Her first job was with Decker Meat Packing Company. She later worked for Sears, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Metzgers Dairy, Dallas County in the tax assessor-collectors office and later at the French Flair Beauty Salon. She married S.M. Teel, Jr. on December 8 1947.
She is preceded in death by her husband, S.M. Teel of 46 years; parents: William and Walker Westmoreland; brothers: Clarence Westmoreland, Athol Westmoreland, and Irby Westmoreland: sisters: Odelle Priest and Ruby Lee Priest.
She is survived by her son, Steve and his wife, Pam of Granbury, Texas and daughter Jana Morrison of Dallas, Texas. She was known affectionately as Nanny by her 5 grandchildren: Brenna (Teel) Williamson and her husband Ryan; Rachel (Teel) Neeley and her husband, Benjamin; Sara (Teel) Mannis and her husband, Kenny: Jason Adams and his wife, Jasmin; and Kevin Morrison and his wife, Randi; and her 10 great-grandchildren: Claira Neeley, Macy Neeley, Nolan Neeley, Annabel Williamson, Layla Williamson, Austin Adams, Andrew Adams, Jayden Morrison, Katie Morrison, Brionna Jones and many nieces and nephews.
Nola was a life-long member of the Meadowview church of Christ in Mesquite, Texas, where she was active in providing meals to others and the baby blanket ministry. “Nanny” was a loving, caring and compassionate person who will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
Funeral will be held at Eubank Funeral Home on January 14, 2016 at 11:00 am.
Visitation will be January 13, 2016 at Eubank Funeral Home from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
