Sammy Randoph Miller

Sam was of the Church of Christ Faith. A memorial service to honor his life will be held on February 24, 2023 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, TX. Family will receive visitors from 10:30 am to 11:00 a.m. before the service. The service will start at 11:00 a.m.

Sammy Randolph Miller was born in Clarksville, TX on April 1, 1948 to Randolph Hankins Miller & Vivian McKey Miller. Sam’s father was employed by Jeff Howard Road Construction and his mother was a homemaker. Being one of nine children, Sam loved growing up on his family farm with each of his 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He graduated from Detroit, TX High School in 1966. Upon graduation he went to work for Occidental Chemical Company where he spent 40+ years of his career making his way up to plant manager.

Sam spent much of his life as an active member in The Lake Tawakoni Bass Club where he met his wife Tonia. They were married Christmas Day of 1996. Sam and Tonia were married for 26 years. They loved to fish bass tournaments together, camp out at various lakes for tournaments, and relax at their home on Lake Tawakoni with a good cup of coffee in the morning and a beer in the evening. He also enjoyed spending much of his time with his children and grandchildren. His favorite thing to teach them all was his “Sam-isms.” For anyone that knew Sam, he had a lot of them.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents Hank and Vivian Miller; brothers Paul Anglen, Billy Miller, Jim Miller, and Dicky Miller; sisters Virginia Rater and Margie Miller; and his daughter Rhonda Gail McClary.

Sam is survived by his sister, Sheila Icenhower and husband Ken of Paris; sister, Marlyn Barnes and husband Jerry of Paris; wife, Tonia Miller of Wills Point; son, Paul Miller of Rowlett; step-daughter, Erica Pomykal and husband Lance of Grand Saline; step-son Kevin Scott and wife Ashley of Rockwall; and 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Sam will be greatly missed by all of those who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to:
