

Sandra Louise Dempsey, 84, of Canton, Texas went home to the Lord on November 26, 2024, celebrating her birthday with loved ones that went before her. She was born on November 26, 1940, to William Albert Kenyon and Sara Louise Hart Kenyon in Amarillo, Texas.
Sandra grew up in Oklahoma and Texas – Texas was in her though and though. After college she work for Wichita Falls ISD and Grapevine ISD. Sandra had a love of teaching but wanting to do more she devoted her time in molding and helping build the lives and character of young men working for The Boy Scouts of America in Irving. She retired from there after 20 years.
Sandra met and married her one true love, Sam Dempsey, in 1980. Together they built a beautiful and wonderful life. Sandra adopted two daughters, her love for them was ever ending. Sandra enjoyed cooking, shopping and growing beautiful flowers. If she could, she would have filled the world with all the beautiful flowers. Sandra never met a stranger. Sandra enjoyed meeting people and was interested in everything about their lives.
Sandra was a warm and loving person that will be truly missed but live on in the memories her loved ones hold dear to them.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Louise Kenyon.
She is survived by her beloved husband, William Samuel Dempsey; daughters, Candice Rodriguez and Kimberly Kimble; stepson, Robert Dempsey; sister and brother in-law, Susan and Harold McCann; brother and sister in-law, John and Janice Kenyon; nieces and nephews: Jennifer and Scott Rodgers, Jeremy and Melanie McCann, Amy Tipton, Mark and Alyssa Kenyon; and numerous cousin; other family and friends
Sandra will be laid to rest at Oakland Cemetery in Van Zandt County, Texas
