Thomas Frederick Shook, 78, of Canton, Texas passed away January 31, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 8, 1945, in Concord, New Hampshire to Franklin Frederick and Geneva Marie (Gosselin) Shook.
Thomas grew up in both Kennewick, Washington and Anchorage, Alaska. He graduated from West Anchorage High School then met his first love in Susan Elisabeth Shook soon after. They were married in Cleveland, Ohio on October 16, 1967, and blessed with 34 years together before her passing in 2001. Thomas’s second marriage with Maureen Freeman Shook was treasured with 17 years of marriage from 2005 until her passing in March of 2022. Thomas was not a sports fan, but a pioneer in the computer industry—starting in the 1960’s with school at Case Western Reserve and consulting work all around the world. He was not in the military, but he volunteered for many years with the Coast Guard, including rescue work during Katrina and near the Columbia River. During his leisure time, Thomas enjoyed to travel, fish, spend time at the ocean and go scuba diving. To relax, nothing was better than a good Sci-Fi book by the fire.
Thomas is survived by his son, Gary Shook of Canton; daughter, Sheryl Huff of Penfield, Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Krysta, Matthew, Angelica, Kendra, Kyla, Zane; great grandchildren: JJ, Aryia, Hosea, Jaxon; brother; Peter Shook of Anchorage, Alaska; sister, Peggy of Minnesota; nephew, James of Alaska.
He is preceded by his beloved first wife, Susan; second wife, Maureen; parents: Franklin and Geneva.
