Wanda "Maw" Gandy

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025, at New Beginnings Baptist Church in Edom, Texas. Pastor Shelby Davidson officiating and under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior at the church.

Pallbearers: Jason Clyburn, Nick Gandy, Neil Gandy, Timmy Nipp, Brandon Nipp, Ricky Gandy, "Special little partner" - Gus Saylors.

Wanda grew up in Edom and graduated from Brownsboro High School. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Edom for many years. She married her true love, Charles Gandy and raised three children, Kent, Sissy and Buckshot Gandy.

Wanda was known for her pies. She was a wonderful cook and worked in the restaurant business for many years with her family after retiring from the nursery and plant business that she and Charles cultivated over the years. Wanda still enjoyed yardwork in her later years.

Wanda was involved with the community in many ways. She drove a school bus for several years and was always up for volunteering cooking the Edom Community Thanksgiving Dinner. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, slot machines and time with family. The best days were filled with family, food and love.

Wanda is preceded in death by her father, Wylie Boyd; her mother, Gloy Easley; her stepfather, Hollis Easley; beloved husband, Charles Gandy; son in-law, David Dean.

She is survived by her children: Kent Gandy and wife, Jan, Sissy Dean, Buckshot Gandy and wife, Rheatia; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.

Wanda will be laid to rest at Edom Cemetery in Van Zandt County, Texas.
