William Wayne Grinstead was born on December 9, 1934 and entered heaven’s gates on November 6, 2021. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years Carolyn McCondichie Grinstead. He also leaves behind four children: Janet Rutledge, John Grinstead (Paula), Dana Grinstead, and Dona Besherse (Matt); grandchildren, Stephanie and Jeremy Rutledge, Phillip and Mackenzie Grinstead, Blake Grinstead and Madison, Brayden, and Kara Besherse and one great grandson, Camren Grinstead. He also leaves behind his sister Coleen Coleman and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Maude Grinstead and his sister, Evelyn McCullough.
Bill grew up in the Paris, Texas and graduated from Delmar School. He loved his country and served as a medic for the Army for 2 years. He was a loyal worker at Standard Industrial Supplies in Mesquite for over 20 years. After professing his faith on August 29, 1969, he became an active member at Gross Road Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas. Throughout the years, he has served the Lord as a R.A leader, Sunday school teacher and assisted in several committees at his church. In May 2003, Bill and Carolyn retired and moved to Canton, Texas. In Canton, he continued to serve the Lord and others while attending Crossroads Church.
Bill was loved by his family, church, and community. He loved working in the yard, going on walks with his dog Daisy, and spending time with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at Crossroads Church in Canton on December 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
