

Alexander Joseph Nicol, age 94, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of New Fairfield, CT, passed away at home on Saturday, January 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 10, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY, son of Alexander and Bertha (Everett) Nicol.
A printer by trade, he worked for Brady-Palmer Label Corp. in Brewster, NY, retiring as a co-owner of the company after 44 years. He was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield, CT, where he served as a lector, eucharistic minister, member of St. Matthew's Guild and Parish Trustee. He was a founding member of St. Katharine Drexel in Cape Coral, FL, where he had resided full time for the last 16 of many years as a snowbird.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 67 years, Catherine (Steele) and his 4 children, Mary Beth (Tim) McBride, Cathy (Bob) Huffman, Alex (Cindy), and Anne Marie (Brian Mikolashek), all of Cape Coral, 6 grandchildren, Shannon (Stephen Honeycutt), Tim (Rosa) McBride, Claire and Nathan Huffman, Robert (Jenna) and Stephen Nicol, and 3 great-grandchildren, Alexa, Christopher, and Carina Nicol, his sister Bernice of Wellington, FL and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of christian burial for Alexander will be held Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1922 SW 20th Avenue, Cape Coral, FL 33991. A graveside service will occur Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991. A reception will occur Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
