Born on March 25, 1943 in Mississippi, Carol grew up in Queens, New York, with her beloved sister Mary and her parents, Charles and Margaret Piazza. While working as a legal secretary in New York City, at the age of 22, Carol took a cruise with her parents aboard the Oceanic and met the love of her life, an Italian crew member, Alessandro Ravetti. The two married less than two years later and built a life centered on love and family with their three daughters--Alessandra, Debbie, and Diane-- in Oceanside, NY.
Carol was a talented artist who found joy in oil and watercolor painting, as well as playing piano and crocheting. She lovingly crocheted blankets to welcome each of her grandchildren into the world, creating treasured keepsakes that will live on for generations. She worked for many years at TWA, where she developed a love of travel. She especially cherished traveling with her husband and held a deep love for Italy, a place that was close to her heart.
Above all, Carol cherished her family. She dedicated herself to raising her three daughters, always selflessly and lovingly putting the needs of others before her own. She was a loving and devoted wife who cared for her husband for many years during his illness, always placing his needs above her own.
Carol was a woman of remarkable strength. Despite enduring significant health challenges throughout her life, she faced each one with quiet bravery and unwavering faith. She remained strong, positive, and independent until her very last breath. Carol was deeply devoted to her faith, which guided her throughout her life. She faced every illness and setback with unwavering faith and courage, rising again and again with strength and grace.
Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alessandro Ravetti, who passed away in 2020. Carol’s memory will be kept alive by her sister, Mary Piazza; her three daughters, Alessandra Ravetti Jaeger, Debbie McGeary, and Diane Martin; and her cherished grandchildren, Joseph McGeary, Kim McGeary, Paul Martin, Alex Martin, Alessia Jaeger, Erin McGeary, Connor Martin, and Luke Jaeger.
