Eileen Katzaba passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 89. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, faith, and kindness touched countless lives.
Born on April 15, 1937, in Manhattan, New York, Eileen was the daughter of John and Rita Moran. She attended Assisi Catholic School in New York City and later worked for AT&T before beginning the next chapter of her life devoted to family, faith, and friendship.
On September 2, 1961, Eileen married the love of her life, Joseph Katzaba. Together they built a beautiful life on Long Island, surrounded by a large Irish family, lifelong friends, and countless cherished memories. During this time, Eileen became deeply involved with St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Hauppauge, where she helped establish a children’s Mass that brought families together and reflected her love for children and community.
In 1973, Eileen and her family moved to Cape Coral, Florida, where she became a devoted parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Andrew Catholic Church. With her warm spirit, strong faith, and endless energy, she once again helped create a children’s Mass that touched many lives. Family and friends still fondly remember her blowing up hundreds of balloons for Easter Mass celebrations, creating joy and laughter for so many.
Eileen had a passion for travel, adventure, shopping, cooking, and entertaining. As a travel agent, she enjoyed exploring the world and sharing those experiences with others. She treasured her decades-long Friday night dinners with close friends — gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and love. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her heart always generous.
She leaves behind her loving daughters, Christine Katzaba and Suzan Keller; her cherished grandchildren, Dominique, Cody, Joshua, and Kami; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.
Eileen will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering faith, vibrant personality, incredible cooking, and the love she poured into everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, family, and friendship that will never be forgotten.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 22, at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
