Frederick Joseph Kemp

Frederick (Joe) Kemp, 91, of St. James City, Florida and Spencer, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, in Florida. He was born on September 12,1933, in Savannah, Ohio to Dewitt and Edna Kemp. On February 12,1956, he married Mary Colbert at Ruggles Community Church. He worked at Black River Local Schools and Medina County Education Center retiring in 1983. He wintered in Pine Island, Florida for the past 35 years. Joe enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting.

He is survived by his family including daughters, Jody Weidrick, Rhonda (Mike) Hollowniczky, Lisa (Jim) Spies; grandchildren Rachel Gerdau, Emily (Justin) Lewis, Joe Spies (Kira Covert), Courtney (Ryan) Sansone, Haley (Adrian) Sanders, Leah (Alex) Andrea, Max Spies; great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Gabriel, Grady, Amelia, Lily, Aurora; sister Glenna and brothers Gene and Martin; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary; sisters Camilla and Eleanor and brother Rodney; great grandson Grant.

The celebration of life will be at his residence in Spencer, Ohio on May 17,2025 between 1:00-3:00. Interment will be at Savannah Cemetery, Savannah Ohio.
