Gary Daniel Blackburn

On December 15, 2015 Gary Daniel Blackburn passed away suddenly. He was born in Fort Myers, Florida and grew up in Cape Coral, where he was involved in football and karate. Gary was an avid fisherman from a young age and enjoyed BMX, he attended Mariner High School and had many lifelong friends. After high school Gary became a tile setter and worked for 15 years. He developed a love a shark fishing as an adult and caught many sharks, his largest being over 6 feet. On the weekends you would find Gary watching football and spending time with his family. He was most proud of his 4 children.

Gary is survived by his parents, Cindy and Jim Clapsaddle and Terry and Vickie Blackburn; his siblings Grace and her husband Erich Madden, Tim Blackburn and his wife Kim, Andy Blackburn and his wife Alisha, and Steven Clapsaddle. His loving children, Katelyn, Gary, Jr. Tia and Marina; nieces and nephews, Tim, Jr., Ashlee, Kevin, Kiera, Mckinlee, Michael, Austin W, Austin S. Makayla, Alexandra, Lailee, and Andrew. His Aunt Vicki Blackburn; Uncle Jim Abate; Godparents Rita and Danny; girlfriend Connie Lopez. Gary is also survived by many loving relatives in New York, Denver, California, and North Carolina.

A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2016 on the Sanibel Causeway beginning at 3 PM.
