He was born on July 22, 1936 to Walter and Minnie Sweigert in Chippewa Township (Easton), OH. Jim was raised in Sterling, OH and went to Norwayne High School. He served his country for 38 years joining the Army in 1956 and transitioning into Civil Service in 1962 while at Fort Knox, KY. He returned to Germany in 1964 until his retirement, when he moved to Cape Coral. He was involved in many projects throughout the city and became a valuable and respected member of the community.
Jim married his wife Rosemarie on February 7, 1958, in Germany and is survived by his wife; son Steven (Peggy); grandson Brandon; brother Vernon (Sue) of Cape Coral, FL and many nieces and nephews that love and will miss him.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister Twyla Raby and brother W. Wayne Sweigert.
A memorial celebration of life will be held at St. Katherine Drexel Church on Friday, August 9th at 1pm. Burial will be at sea.
