Joshua Randall Eddy, Josh, 18 years old, of Cape Coral, Florida reunited with family in Heaven on May 28, 2024, following a motor vehicle accident on I-75 in Lee County Florida.
Josh was born in Fort Riley, Kansas on October 29, 2005, to Randall and Rebekah Eddy, his loving parents. Josh attended preschool and began elementary school in Crawfordville, Florida. He continued elementary school and began middle school in Bridgeton, NJ. He finished middle school and high school in Cape Coral, Florida. Josh worked hard in school to earn good grades, and he enjoyed running, weightlifting, and laughing and joking with his friends. Outside of school, he enjoyed watching movies, playing computer and video games, going to amusement parks, hanging out with his friends, going to the beach, and playing hide-n-seek with his sister and cousins and man hunt with his friends. Josh lit up every room he entered with his smile.
The Eddy family is devastated by this tragic, sudden loss. Josh was only 18 years old and had a vibrant future ahead of him, beginning with him attending FSU this summer as part of the Class of 2028. Despite this tragedy, Josh’s family will cherish the memories they shared together riding roller coasters at amusement parks in Florida, trips to the beach, and playing games with family and friends.
Josh is survived by his parents Randall and Rebekah Eddy of Cape Coral, his sister Christina Eddy of Cape Coral, his maternal grandfather Wayne Post Jr. of Cape Coral, his cousins Cheryl and Kaley Courtney of Tampa, his Uncle Gary Eddy of Gainesville, his Aunt Rachel and Uncle Brad Simpson of Gainesville, his Uncle Chris, Aunt Roxy, and cousin Alex Eddy of St. Augustine, his Uncle Rusty Eddy of Tallahassee, his Aunt Susie Post and cousins Mikaela Pewitt, Jack Huhn, Jason Huhn, and Kendall Stipes of NJ, and numerous friends of Florida and NJ. He will forever be loved and cherished by all.
Josh’s legacy is that he donated six healthy vital organs, giving new life to six other people.
Josh’s Celebration of Life ceremony was June 8, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Pine Island in Bokeelia, Florida from 9:30 to 1:30.
