Kenneth Gordon Benson, 76, was born on September 3rd, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Vernon and Mayme Benson. On July 13, 1963, he married Esther Wittmier and they lived in the Minneapolis area where he was employed by Unisys (formerly Burroughs) until his retirement and subsequent move to Cape Coral, Florida.
He loved traveling - especially in the western US, golfing, bowling, rock collecting, fishing, metal detecting, and camping. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Esther; his children, Barbara (Pete) Keith, Luann (Paul) Carlson, and Robert (Junko) Benson; and three grandchildren, Andrew and Ben Carlson and Kai Benson. He is also survived by his sisters Joan Fritze and Ann Benson.
There will be a gathering at 2:00 and a Celebration of Life at 3:00 on Sunday, June 30, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral. A gathering of friends will also take place in Minneapolis at a later date.
