Born in Schwarzenbach a. Wald Germany on October 13th, 1964, Kerstin stayed in Germany with her beloved Mutti for a few years while her parents, Renate and Patrick Letendre, got settled in Danbury CT. Although Mutti was her grandmother, Mutti always said Kerstin was her 6th child. When she was 6, she and her parents moved to Bow, NH where her parents resided for over 47 years. Kerstin attended Bishop Brady High School in Concord, NH and then moved on to receive a BS in Mathematics from Northeastern University. After graduating, Kerstin got a job with IBM in Research Triangle Park, NC which she held for 31 years. For many years Kerstin enjoyed her beach house in Oak Island, NC. In 2020 Kerstin retired to Cape Coral, FL with her partner Beth to be closer to her parents in their later years.
Kerstin was a fighter. She fought 3 other cancers over the past 30 years starting with Hodgkins disease when she was 28. She received full body radiation and a bone marrow transplant that at the time was very experimental. Dr. Shea told her that he hoped he gave her a good 20 years…last week she said “I got 30”.
Kerstin was full of life! She was smart, talented, sarcastic, witty and enjoyed good banter. She enjoyed traveling, reading and her crime shows but mostly her music which was played right to the end. She loved a good German beer and her Ford Mustang “Stella”. She was very happy when she purchased new electronics and loved the smell of the boxes. Renate, Patrick and Beth will be challenged in the future months with all the systems she set up in their homes!
She is predeceased by her Mutti. She is survived by her parents Renate and Patrick Letendre of Cape Coral, FL, her current partner and lifelong friend of 45 years Beth L. Daigneault of Cape Coral, FL, her God Mother Traudle of Bobengrün, Germany, her aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Diabetes Association in Kerstin’s name at diabetes.org.
Kerstin's Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Bishop Brady High School in Concord, NH from 1pm-5pm.
